*following aftercare is VERY important and will affect how your tattoo will heal*
The rest of the day: don't touch your brows or put anything on them.
Starting the following day: every morning, wash your brows with a mild, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic soap (baby soap, Cetaphil, Ceravé, Dial, Dr. Bronners Unscented) and water. After washing, pat dry, and apply a VERY THIN layer of balm (in your aftercare kit) using a Q-tip. Repeat the washing/balm process once a day for one week.
The first week: don’t let the brow area get wet (while showering / no swimming) other than when you are washing them. Only touch your eyebrows while washing or applying the balm, and only use clean hands. You may apply a second VERY THIN layer of balm later in the day if your skin feels dry, tight, or itchy.
THE HEALING PROCESS:
Your brows will go through a few different 'phases' while healing. The exact length of the healing process varies depending on your age, skin type, lifestyle choices, how well you adherence to aftercare protocols, etc. This infographic timeline shows approximate days of healing, yours may be +/- a day or two.
For Nano, most clients report having a very easy/smooth healing process. Some itching, light flaking (similar to dry skin), and/or tightness may appear during the first seven days post-procedure. By adhering strictly to the after-care instructions, these symptoms should subside quickly.
DURING THE HEALING PROCESS, AVOID FOR AT LEAST 10 DAYS:
AFTER YOUR BROWS ARE HEALED:
After the first week-10 days, your brows may seem healed on the surface, but underneath your skin pigment takes time to resurface. Results should not be critiqued until at least 3 weeks post-procedure. When it comes to healing, the variables are unending and everyone's skin reacts differently to PMU. This is why it is a TWO-STEP PROCESS; the initial session, and the touch-up session. The touch-up appointment is mandatory to perfect your brows; to address any small areas that may have healed lighter, color can be adjusted, and brow thickness and/or size can be added. The touch-up is also an opportunity to add more strokes or shading or go a little bolder once you have 'lived' with your new brows and feel more comfortable with the process.
*Always protect your brows from the sun, use SPF or a daytime moisturizer with SPF on your healed brows.*
Sun exposure and active skincare products directly on your brows will cause the pigment to fade quicker.
